this (forumotion) source is not capable of that So? Were using forumotion, we have it done, and now you want to switch? - Spoiler:
I don't think so.

| only thing is... the current background does not show the same on all resolutions, this can be disturbing for some users that play on computers with dimensions of 1200x1080

| I've been reading up on this, and it doesn't seem to be plausible to really do background resizing in CSS. There is a way to do it, but it really bogs down your system since it takes a great deal of resources to constantly resize your background image in real time. This seems to be the only way to do it, and it lags the page badly. | |

That is why i suggest using dmon.com
With that forum hosting service you can use resizeable backgrounds (on test forum test123.dmon.com i coded it. (using java + html and changing the CSS so it wont show the original background). i also made my own forumotion forum just to look at how you can change the html etc etc, but i coulnt see a way to do the same as on the dmon forums.
as you can see there is hardly any lagg on the dmon forum even tough it uses the javascript for resizeing background

| There is a way to disable CSS in the stylesheet. However, that would probably mean recoding the entire forum in HTML + java. If you're knowledgeable enough to do that, perhaps it would be an option. | |

| Another option would be to post a message on the forumotion help site and ask for some assistance in resizing the background. Perhaps someone would be able to offer some clever alternatives. | |

| another thing could be.. that i export the entire template from the dmon forum.. so that the forummotion can import it but i dont know how that works with forumotion

| never mind that option, i just looked trough the test forumotion forum but i saw that the template files from forumotion are different than the dmon ones (kinda logic)

| I have to go, but I will register on the Forumotion help forums when I get back and send them this question to them. Hopefully they'll be able to help out somehow. | |

Nope. Only the stuff their testing is free, and only the stuff they are testing is buyable. So basicly, yes.

| I have finally come up with a workaround for the resizing issue. I have set the image to be centered at center-top, I have set it to non-repeating, and I have set the background color to gray.
What does this do? 1) The image is no longer left-biased. It will now be horizontally centered at any resolution. This means that it does not matter any longer whether you're using a widescreen or a standard screen monitor. If you're on a widescreen monitor, you just see more of the sides of the picture at any given resolution.
2) The image no longer repeats horizontally or vertically. If your screen resolution is bigger than the image horizontally or vertically, you will now see the image end and a gray background begin below and to the sides of it. What does this mean? It means that we can create a fading effect (a transition) on the bottom and left and right sides of the image to make it look as if the image is transitioning into the gray background beneath it. For those who are using very large resolutions, this will make the image appear natural. It will also mean that there is no resolution at which the image will appear unnatural.
What do we have to do now? We have to redo the background picture to give it fading edges on the left and right sides and on the bottom.
